I just came across an idiosyncratic and very good critique of the Star Wars series. I could never stand Star Wars very much, at least not since I stopped being a teenager – but I never spent much effort analysing why. The obvious absurdity of lightsabers and superluminal flight always seemed enough for me, but it wasn’t until today that I realized how outright malevolent the Star Wars mythology really is.
